One year after entering service, the Gulfstream G800 has established itself as the range leader of the business jet world. The aircraft received type certificates from the FAA and EASA on April 16, 2025, and Gulfstream announced its first customer delivery on August 27, 2025, outfitted at the company's Appleton, Wisconsin, completions facility.
The certifications confirmed performance beyond the program's original targets. At long-range cruise, Mach 0.85, the G800 flies 8,200 nautical miles. At Mach 0.87 it covers 8,000 nautical miles, and at high-speed cruise, Mach 0.90, the range is 7,000 nautical miles. Maximum operating speed was certified at Mach 0.935, up from Mach 0.925 during the test program.
A record to underline the point
On June 28, 2026, a G800 flew nonstop from Melbourne, Australia, to Moline, Illinois, covering 8,303 nautical miles in 16 hours and 56 minutes at an average Mach 0.85. Gulfstream describes it as the farthest and fastest flight in business aviation history. Earlier that month, a G800 flew Reykjavik to Savannah, 2,973 nautical miles in 5 hours and 52 minutes at Mach 0.91, which Gulfstream counted as its 800th city-pair speed record.
Gulfstream's fleet has now amassed 815 city-pair speed records, 15 of them set by the G800 since its entry into service. The records are a marketing instrument as much as an engineering statement, but they make the G800's opening year hard to argue with.

The cabin figures carry as much weight as the range. Gulfstream cites a 2,840-foot cabin altitude at 41,000 feet, which it describes as the industry's lowest, alongside 100 percent fresh air and a plasma ionization air purification system. The interior can be configured with up to four living areas.
The G800 replaces the G650 in the Gulfstream lineup; the final G650 was completed in February 2025. Gulfstream has not published a cumulative delivery count or a current list price for the G800, and this publication will not estimate either.
