The Bombardier Global 8000 has completed its certification campaign. Transport Canada issued type certification on November 5, 2025, the FAA followed on December 19, 2025, and EASA granted its approval on January 23, 2026. The aircraft entered service in December 2025, with the first delivery taking place on December 8 in Mississauga, Ontario, to Canadian customer Patrick Dovigi.

Bombardier publishes a top speed of Mach 0.95, describing the aircraft as the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde. Published range is 8,000 nautical miles, and the cabin altitude is 2,691 feet at 41,000 feet, which Bombardier describes as the lowest in business aviation production. Bombardier also positions it as the only true four-zone business jet offering 8,000 nautical miles of range. These are manufacturer claims, stated as such.

In September 2026 the Global 8000 gained UK CAA clearance for steep approaches into London City Airport, a meaningful operational addition for an aircraft aimed at European owners who value docklands access.

Speed against range

The Global 8000 and the Gulfstream G800 now define the two poles of the ultra-long-range market. Bombardier holds the certified speed record at Mach 0.95 with 8,000 nautical miles of range; Gulfstream holds the range record at 8,200 nautical miles with a Mach 0.935 top speed. For operators, the practical question is which constraint binds their missions: the clock or the map.
