Amanvari opened in August 2026 in the private Costa Palmas community on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, Mexico, marking Aman's first property in Mexico. Aman announced the opening as August 1, 2026, while Luxury Travel Magazine (Australia) reports the resort began welcoming guests on August 4; the copy here states August 2026 and attributes the specific dates. The project was first announced in 2018 with a projected 2020 opening, making it one of the industry's most delayed openings, per One Mile at a Time.
The resort has just 18 accommodations, each described as a contemporary casita of approximately 82 square metres with a private heated pool, outdoor shower, and terraces up to 200 square metres. Architecture is by Elastic Architects with early design input from Heah and Co; materials include hand-applied white concrete, natural stone, and timber. The resort's name combines the Sanskrit words for peace and water, per Aman's own opening announcement.
Dining and wellness
Dining spans Luma, for Mexican coastal cooking over open fire; Sesui, a 10-seat omakase counter plus an a la carte dining room; Arva, the Italian restaurant built around the shared table; plus a Lounge Bar and The Pool. Wellness is an Aman Spa with a contemporary temazcal, described by Luxury Travel Magazine as a first for the brand, two hydrotherapy facilities with traditional banya and hammam, six private treatment rooms, a 24-hour fitness centre, a beauty salon with head spa, and an open-air yoga pavilion.
Rates and access
Rates were reported from US$3,000 per night including breakfast, non-motorised water sports, bicycles, and a daily guided wellness activity, per This Is Luxury Travel, as reported in August 2026; rates are time-sensitive and can change. Access is via Los Cabos International Airport followed by an approximately one-hour coastal drive. Costa Palmas is a 1,500-acre estate with a Robert Trent Jones II golf course, organic farms, a deep-water marina, and yacht club.
Aman chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin called the opening a significant milestone in Aman's continued expansion in the Americas, saying the resort establishes a new benchmark for hospitality on Baja's East Cape. Luxury travel advisor Kelli Radcliffe of Brownell Travel, quoted by LPR Luxury, calls it really the only true ultra-luxury resort in the East Cape area, noting the prior option was a private villa.
