The aluminium standard: RIMOWA Original Cabin
RIMOWA's Original Cabin is listed at 1,200 euros on the brand's European store; no USD price was displayed on the official site at research time, and none is published here. RIMOWA positions its hardshell carry-on collection as ideal for three to four days of travel, in sizes ranging from Compact and Pilot to the roomier Cabin Plus. The grooved aluminium shell remains the most recognisable silhouette in luggage.
The expandable workhorse: Briggs and Riley Baseline Essential 22
The Briggs and Riley Baseline Essential 22-inch Carry-On Spinner is $729 at Luggage Online, an authorized retailer. It measures 22 by 14 by 9 inches and uses the brand's patented CX expansion and compression system, with an exterior-mounted Outsider handle that keeps the packing surface flat. It is the pragmatist's choice: less theatre, more engineering.
