Four Seasons confirmed guest arrivals beginning August 26, 2026, marking its Venice debut at one of Europe's most documented hotel landmarks. The property unites three interconnected buildings on the Riva degli Schiavoni: Palazzo Dandolo, built in 1471 as the Dandolo family's residence and first converted to a hotel in 1822; Palazzo Casa Nuova, once the Treasury of the Venetian Republic; and Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, added in 1950.
The hotel reopened with 120 rooms and suites. A further 56 accommodations in Palazzo Danieli Excelsior are scheduled for 2027, bringing the total to 176 keys, 97 rooms and 79 suites. Restoration interiors are by French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, using Venetian materials: Murano glass, terrazzo, Italian marbles, and bespoke Rubelli fabrics.
Terrace over the lagoon
Signature dining is the rooftop Restaurant Terrazza Danieli, helmed by executive chef Adriano Rausa, with panoramic lagoon views, plus Bar Dandolo off the lobby for cocktails, coffee, and tea service. Danieli Spa is scheduled to debut in late 2026 with three treatment rooms, one for couples, a sauna, and a hammam; it is not yet open.
The project is a partnership with owner Gruppo Statuto, and it is Four Seasons' fourth property in Italy after Milano, Firenze, and San Domenico Palace in Taormina, with a Puglia resort announced. General manager Christian Zandonella leads the team, with Four Seasons noting many staff familiar to returning guests. The hotel was Venice's first modern grand hotel and hosted figures from Dickens to Wagner to Proust across its history as the Danieli.
